LENSES

Longman Optical produces a broad range of precision grade lenses with outstanding specifications. They are made of the best grade material of BK7 optical class, fused silica, sapphire, high index flint glass. The lenses are widely used in the optical industry and have various functions. They can be used for the simple collection of light, the scanning of laser beams, precise imaging and image transfer. Simple lens elements can work either singly or in combination with others. Some of our lenses are customer OEM. We are very competitve both in producing small quantity and large volume customer OEM lenses.

Achromatic Doublets, designed to eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations inherent in singlet lenses

Achromatic Doublets

Achromatic doublet lenses (“achromat”) are designed to eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations inherent in singlet lenses. When used on-axis, an achromatic lens focuses an parallel input beam to a perfect “point”, imited only by the effects of diffraction. This performance can be achieved over a broadband of wavelength. Achromatic lenses can be used to collimate and focus laser beams. They can also be used for high-quality imaging on-axis. However, the off-axis performance is significantly.

Image of Ball lenses, used for light coupling in fiber-optic applications

Ball Lenses

Ball lenses are used for light coupling in fiber-optic applications. The choice of the optical ball lens depends on various parameters such as the diameter of the laser beam, the numerical aperture of the fiber and the wavelength of the light. We put out these ball lenses from optical glasses to provide a high coupling efficiency when used with fiber optics. They are simple to use as they can be put in contact with the end of the fiber.

Cylindrical Lenses

Cylindrical lenses are available in either plano-concave or plano-convex configurations. Plano-concave lenses have a negative focal length and are used for image reduction or to spread light. Plano-convex lenses have a positive focal length, which makes them ideal for collecting and focusing light for many imaging applications.
